Sewage Treatment:

  • Batemans Bay STP is an activated sludge (continuous extended aeration) plant with tertiary ponds

Outfall:

  • The ocean outfall is located approximately 6 km south of the township of Batemans Bay. It consists of a 600 mm pipe, which discharges below water level approximately 2 m from the end of a rocky platform and 50 m south of the headland known as “The Ladders” (see photo). The outfall does not have a nozzle and relies on turbulent mixing to achieve initial dilution.
